First off, just to get it out of the way so as to hopefully not waste anyone's time, I am not looking to join a cover band.

I have been a singer/songwriter for awhile and have performed at numerous venues in North and South Carolina, including the Music Farm right here in Charleston. I now live in Mt Pleasant, but I have grown tired of being solo (in both performing and in songwriting). I am looking to join and become frontman for an original band with a sound along the lines of NeedtoBreathe or Switchfoot (although preferably without the underlying religious suggestions), possibly Fuel minus their hardest stuff, or even a more progressive type of sound. I will consider other sounds/genres as long as the music is good and fits any of my tastes, but I would prefer something in the rock/alt-rock area.

I will definitely contribute to writing music for the band, but I do not want to be the sole songwriter in the band. I believe a collaborative effort will yield the best songs. My songwriting strength is writing strong, catchy hooks/choruses. This, coupled with a person or people who have strengths in writing creative verses and melodies would be most productive.

I am only interested in working with serious, dedicated, responsible people who wish to make this a career and are willing to do what it takes to get there. Drug users, immature and/or irresponsible types need not reply to this post. Please don't waste my time.

I would prefer to join a band who has already got some songs put together and recorded, but if someone wants to put together a new band, that may work too.

I do have a full time job, but I get off work at 4:30pm (Mon-Fri) and am available to practice several evenings a week - you should be too.

Finally, I'm not interested in only practicing twice a month and getting one gig every couple of months, at which we put on a weak performance due to insufficient practice. I'm looking to work hard, practice a lot, put on solid performances at gigs that get people talking, build a local following, get increasingly frequent gigs, open shows for successful bands, and continue building a fanbase, just for starters. If this is what you're looking for as well, don't hesitate to contact me. If you're not looking to make the commitment required to achieve that, please don't waste my time.

My son is 14 and all he wants for Christmas is a Les Paul guitar= amp. There is no way I can get this for him at all. Is there anyone out there that would help this young upcoming inspiring musician. To be able to hear him play is unreal. He has never had lessons one on one in his life he learns the music on his friends pc. I wish I could get him some lessons. I know the Gibson les paul is asking for alot but i'm relaying what he wants.Maybe someone has a used good one you don't need anymore. There is a place advertising called Guitar Center and they have sales on sets with amp but I'm trying to buy Christmas dinner so we can eat.I want to be able to cook him a good meal he's a great kid and I would hate to see him loose that gleem in his eye for music.He can also play the organ, he's already learned a song by beetohven and can play alot of other songs too. Your public relations ability will be as important as your singing. Playing an instrument is not necessary, but you must be able to cover lead as well as sing in 3-part harmony, and have experience in booking. This is a weekend only gig and usually only one night of the weekend. We rehearse as needed.
