There will be a one guy (21) full time, one girl (23) full time, and another guy (23) - that is only at the house occasionally.
There is also one small hypoallergenic dog that lives in the house. We have a large fenced in backyard so it is ok if you have an outside dog.
Would consider an inside/outside dog depending on what type. Can't have cats inside, but its cool if they are outside. We have a decent porch for them.
Its a pretty large house, so we all have enough space from each other. Everyone works, so its not like we are around the house all the time.
There is a 300 dollar deposit. Utilities also add on about another 100 dollars. This includes electric, water, internet, and cable.
We have a washer, a dryer that is currently broken, two living rooms, and a dining room. Plenty of room to add in furniture.
This room will be available until the end of April. We all get along very well. Everyone is good at sharing and hanging out with each other.

The house has all hardwood floors, a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room and mud room. It also has a huge back porch and fenced in backyard. Great for social gatherings and is pet friendly. The kitchen was renovated in the last year and is a very pretty light blue!

The rent is $475 and includes your own bathroom! Utilities are split three ways and are always less than 75 dollars a month. There is a $217.00 deposit, I am willing to negotiate paying a portion since you will be taking over my lease. The deposit is fully refundable upon your moving out...so you would be getting the whole $217.00. This is also a good deal because most landlords would want a full months rent as a deposit. Our landlord is awesome...he takes care of everything in a timely manner. He also takes care of the yard for us!

now, reading my original post, did i ever say anything about searching somebody's room? paranoid much? i'm guess she's just a drug user who was offended by my ardent dislike of people who bring drugs into my home.

I keep it very clean and expect room mates who are neat, considerate and mature. I prefer non-smokers. I keep very busy and come and go often. Parking is not an issue.
The house flows well with a large open living area off of kitchen and a wonderful screen porch.
I am going to be picky when I choose a room mate because I don't want to be miserable in 2 months. I am looking for someone who is clean and picks up after their own mess. I like to keep the common areas clean. Gender doesn't matter but I would prefer someone between the age of 18 and 32. You must have a steady job and pay a refundable deposit ($200). Pets are negotiable. I have a group of friends over once in awhile but I don't want any parties at my house. what you will find when you get here: i'm a 25 y/o semi-professional male who's lived in charleston for about 5 years. i inherited the apt from a failed marriage and its in a beautiful neighborhood with very nice low rent in a very convenient area. i keep myself clean and quiet and i don't make a big fuss so long as nobody does anything to grind my gears. male or female roommates welcome, i don't care. as mentioned above, i am in the process of trying to move out of charleston and into NYC. i have many things to get in line before i can do that, however, and i would like to spend my last few months here with some extra cash in my pocket. the apartment's overall rent is actually 550, and if you like, when i leave you will have the freedom to take over the place all for yourself. you will have the font bedroom, which has a medium sized closet, plenty of space, a large double window, and a fan (heck, my room doesn't even have a fan.) tentative move in date of early december is what i have in mind.

I am very honest & respectful of your things & space. I dont borrow or ask favors. I appreciate the same (I'm not a jerk, though, so if you really need something just ask :) hahaha).
The room is very large (18 x 15). It has a private entrance to your room off of the driveway (or can be entered thru the house). There is a large decorative brick fireplace, 2 windows, ceiling fan, large cedar closet, & huge walkin / storage closet attached to it. There is a fire wall between your room & the rest of the house so it is VERY quiet. The full bath is not attached but is YOUR OWN bathroom and there is a large linen closet adjacent to the bathroom that would be all yours, too.
As far as the furnishing is concerned... Its masculine. I'd like to rent it furnished to avoid having to store items but will discuss that with the right person. Furnished the room has: full bed w/ bedding (not pictured), bedside table w/ 2 drawers & lamp, large dresser w/ 6 drawers and lamp, tv stand w/ tv/dvd combo, stereo, comcast high speed internet & cable, futon (can be used as a bed frame under full size bed if not desired as extra seating), & papasan chair.
The house is a 1960s (?) ranch style duplex. It has a huge fenced-in back yard (not a lot of grass so yardwork is VERY minimal), lots of old trees & large driveway (no shuffling of cars necessary). The person that currently lives next door is very quiet. I live in the larger 2/3s of the house (I rent - the landlord is AWESOME). I have the master bedroom (a little smaller than the one for rent & w/out ample closet space but w/ attached bath). There is a bonus room off of your bedroom that you have to go thru to get to the rest of the house (making your space very quiet & private). Currently that room has a twin bed in it for the dogs to look out the window while I'm gone. Its kind of their space since it can't really be used as a 3rd bedroom. I've been thinking about putting excercise equipment in there - again, the right person/couple & I can discuss usage of that space.
As far as the rest of the house is concerned it is 100% furnished. Medium sized living room, medium kitchen, laundry closet w/ washer & dryer. Oh yeah, the washer & dryer situation. The w/d closet is located off of your room (pretty well separated as far as noise & heat are concerned). This means that when I do my 2 loads of laundry a week I need to come thru your room to do that. In the past this has not been a problem. I ALWAYS make sure that I do my loads when it is good for you (usually back to back so I only have to go in there in one time frame), whether its when you are home or not - your preference. I am soo paranoid about being respectful of that persons space that I beeline it to the laundry closet & back. You can probably talk to my current roomie about his perspective on it if you'd like.
Other stuff, let's see... I rent. My lease is up in July/Aug but am contemplating staying for another year if I find the right roommie. I've been here for 2yrs & mostly love it. I really want to be settled for a while. It all depends on if I find the right person to share this space with. I expect that common spaces are maintained respectfully, otherwise I'm pretty low maintenace. Being this close to the ocean means people come to visit - your room is large enough to entertain guests for a couple days - I just ask that they aren't in the house alone. I don't have parties, I rarely have people over, I seldom go out. I spend most of my home time w/ my dogs or on my computer.
I am a 31yo female. I work at a doc office M-F days & occasionally pick up a catering shift on the weekends. I am super serious about my dogs & anything that may put them in danger. If you believe that dogs should be physically reprimanded you're NOT the roommate for me. I do drink socially but I don't tolerate frequent drunk / stumbling episodes & absolutely NO DRUGS or GUNS allowed in this house! I ask that you use your private entrance as often as possible (especially if intoxicated) so that the dogs don't sneak out the front door on your watch.
The utilities are reasonable & split 2 ways. I can work w/ security deposit & lease concerns. I will be performing a thorough background check on the roomie I choose, especially since everything I own is in this house - I'm sure you understand. :)
My current roomie is awesome but the job that he was working on out here is coming to a close in the next month or two & he'll be moving back home. I know it's the worst time of year to be looking for a roomie, but the room is likely going to be available around the 15th of December. He is willing to work with me (as discussed at the beginning of his lease, he'll willingly move into an efficiency near work until the job is over) if I find the right person before then.
