Greetings,
I need help w/ dinner and was wondering if anyone may have an extra turkey that they could donate
I'm laid off and trying to get food stamps but it won't be before Christmas. I have a 14 yr old boy and I'm not going to be able to shop for him this year it's been really hard on us.It's all I can do to put gas in my truck to school. I get him there he doesn't know that I always run out of gas when I drop him off but i don't want him to worry. He really wants a electric guitar but I would just like to cook us a nice meal and sit down together and pray and remember the true meaning Christmas day. If you can help with the dinner I would be so greatful. Sorry to be begging but all people can say is no.. May God bless you and Merry Christmas. PS we can meet somewhere to get the dinner if anyone can do it.. Thanks from the bottom of my heart..

Please if you are reading this posting and want to do something supper special I could use your help. My mother in law will turn 80 years old on Dec 31st, and this has been a rough year for her. First she had to retire after working over 50 years running her own in home daycare center, then she had to give up her house and move to a retirement center, and just recently she found out that she was going to loose part of her medical coverage. And to make things worse she was telling me just the other day that she must not be too important this year because she has not yet recieved any Christmas or Birthday cards. Please if you could find it within your heart to send her a card and maybe even add a gift card for food or Walmart (that is where she fills her perscriptions) to help her out and to show her she is a very special person I would be so greatful for the help. This lady goes so far out of her way to do things for others all the time and never expects or asks for any thing in return. I just want her to know she is special and loved very much. So if you feel you could help send her a card and or gift please email me for her address....

I need a lady with a good heart to stay at my house and watch my wife for me a week in January. She is 45 and has cancer for almost 2 years now. I am her total caregiver and work 55 hours a week at my job, currently I bring her to work with me and she sleeps in a motorhome behind my job from 6am till 6pm. We have a beautifull home in West ashley but I am not comfortable leaving her home alone. She is very confused, and I dont trust she will take the right meds when she is supposed to. I have been given a weeks vacation to get away and relax and regroup. So I am hoping to find a lady to stay with her for the 6 days I will be gone. I can not afford in home care. I am hoping to find some one to keep her company and remind her when its time to take her meds and eat. Details can be worked out. IF you know anyone please get in touch with me?? To date I have paid all expenses out of my pocket. Financially I am drained, but I need a computer! I am renting a small office space but am unable to use it because I lack the computer that will assist in my research, grant writing, and incorporation paperwork process. I am happy to share with you information that shows we a legitimate organization (in the process of incorporation). If you have computer that you can donate please let me know. I will provide you with my website link, EIN number, office space rental agreement, or the names and numbers of local business people who are helping me get started. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Everyone who helps me in these early stages will be acknowledged in the founding of this program.

It is one of the most tourist places in the region and has a lot to offer to the visitor. Its laidback atmosphere and amazing beaches give it a very distinctive touch. It is also a prime location for learning yoga and meditation in one of its many ashrams. It is also the home of Auroville, a famous international community created by the Guru Sri Auro Bindo.
The volunteer project is organized in cooperation with an active local NGO in the field of education and renovation. In the past years many schools and villages have benefited from the work done by international volunteers, including the 2004 Tsunami-hit regions. A shelter for children and old aged people was opened in a village 10 km from the city, providing support to the poorer sections of the population in the district. The volunteers will be involved in various activities ranging from manual work at the center, creative and entertainment activities in schools and kindergartens and spreading awareness on issues related to education, environment protection, health and hygiene.

Hello, I am a family man, age 52, a Vietnam Era Veteran, belong to the United Methodist Church. I got hurt on the job back in 1997, and was put out on disability retirement. My family and I have lived here for over 20 years, and was expecting to retire here. But living on a fixed income is hard. With taxes going up, my house payment goes up. I am only allowed to make $980 gross a month besides my Social Security pension / Retirement. I work part-time 3 days a week to help bring in extra money. My wife suffers from depression, and is unable to work. I need repairs on my home, but can't afford to get my house fixed and still make the house payment, electric bill, food, water, etc... If anyone could help me out with repairs, I would pay you when I could.... or Drive for you. I have a bad back & Shoulder from my injury, had over 5 surgeries since 1997, but I can drive good. If ever you needed a vehicle taken out of town, or pay for my train ticket to anywhere in USA and I will drive a vehicle to any state for you. I was a truckdriver for over 20 years, but lost my CDL because I couldn't pass my DOT Physical with my back condition. But I do have a 100% clean driving record, and can drive all types of vehicles that do not require a CDL Class A License. Here are the items going bad with my home that I can't afford to fix..

1. My Roof is leaking... in the living room, dining room and Kitchen (I Need Shingles)

2. I have soft spots on various areas in my home on the floors due to water or moisture...leaks...I do not know how the floor got soft or what is causing it..

3. I have a split system air conditioner/heater...the heater part in the attic is broken and does not work.

So, if you know someone that would like to donate their time & supplies and help me out, My family and I would be for-ever grateful. If there is a company that would like to give me a new roof for a tax break, or just because you want to help out... God Will Bless You and my Family And I would be in your debt, and could help you out when ever possible... My wife can sew, and I can drive & Cook.... Please look into your heart... Help out a family today!
Thanks... Merry Christmas!

Protecting the Marine Turtles at Colola

December 16, 2009 - January 1, 2010
January 6 - January 22, 2010
January 27 - February 12, 2010

The program for protecting the Marine Turtles is run since 1996 together with the Michoacan University and the local people of Colola Beach. This year again the international volunteers will work with the people of Colola village to protect the sea turtles. There are two kinds of turtles that arrive on the beach, the Negra (Black Turtle) and the Golfina (Olive Riddle Turtle). The people involved in the project help by collecting eggs, burying them in the turtle camp, taking care of the baby turtles and doing some work collecting statistical information.
In this frame, a group of international volunteers will be involved in the project as members of the staff, which means that the volunteers will be very involved in the project and the work.
The goal of this project is to protect the turtles and to help run the conservation activities of the turtle protection program, promoting international cooperation and solidarity.
The main work consists in collecting turtle eggs, burying them again in a secure place, and transporting the baby turtles safely to the sea. This will be carried out at night since the turtles do not get out of the ocean during the day (because of their natural predators, it is safer for the turtles go out of the ocean in the dark). Together with the people from Colola Village, the volunteers will seek for the turtles and take care of the eggs and the baby turtles. Local people, who are very friendly, work with the group and explain them what to do.
Very motivated volunteers who really want to get involved in the work for protection of the turtles are needed for this project.
There are also some extra activities to be done with the local people in order to help improve the town such as setting names to the streets of the town or helping to arrange a multi-use playground for the children, and maybe some cleaning work, but this depends on the volunteers' initiative. The people of the town are very open to participate in other activities that the group of volunteers can propose, so any ideas will be welcome.
Language: The official language of the project is English. Some Spanish would be appreciated.
Location: Colola is a small town located on the Michoacan State coast, between Maruata and La Placita towns. It's a remote place that offers an excellent opportunity to be close to nature, on a virgin beach, with no tourism around. The closest city is Tecoman at 200 kilometers, but other villages such as La Placita that are closer (45 minutes by bus) can offer Internet connection.

For more details, please visit: www.cadip.org/volunteer-in-mexico.htm or give us a call: 617-502-0400 (US); 604-628-7400 (Canada)

This project is part of CADIP's International Volunteer Program: www.cadip.org/workcamps.htm

Hi, I have a 3 month old Jack Russel and her name is Myrtel. She was accidently stepped on and I really thought she had internal injuries at first because of the way she was screaming. It was on the weekend and the only place I could find was the animal hospital on montegue ave. They gave me 2 print outs with what they could do and in order to take x-rays they wanted 482.00 and all I had to my name was 200.00 I gave them that and they gave her a shot for swelling but said I didn't have enough for a pain shot.I was giving her a quarter of a aspirin at first. They said by feeling her with the Dr's hand that he could feel some (boney issues) going on and that it was either broke or out of socket. I have been babying her and caring for her injury. I carry her outside to potty and I feel like her puppy life has been taken from her. It is christmas and I have a child I am trying to pay what bills I can in order to have a christmas. Please if you know of a vet Dr. will help us on credit I can make payments after the holidays. I don't know what else to do except to just come out with it and ask for charity for Myrtel so she can be a happy puppy again. Please help if you can or know of someone in a position that can help her. She would be so greatful and so would my son and myself.. Thanks for taking the time to read and Happy Holiday to you and your family and pets too.. By the way it is Myrtel's back left leg, possible hip or pelvis

WomenOnCall.org is South Carolina's first online network that matches women who are committed to volunteering their professional expertise with non-profit organizations that have specific and immediate volunteer needs.

Why WomenOnCall?
• Use your professional skills to assist a non-profit in need
• Add a substantive line to your resume
• Network with non-profits in your free time
• Flexibile – choose the amount of time you can commit - even volunteer virtually from home!
• Secure and private – manage your profile, allowing non-profits to see what you want them to see (contact information, resume, etc.)

How to use the site:

1. Become a Member. Our two-step Registration Form allows you to enter your membership information, select a volunteer service category and enter your experience in the service categories you have selected.

2. Verify your Membership. Once you submit the registration form you will receive an email welcoming you to WomenOnCall.org.

3. Login to Your Personalized Member Center. From your Member Center you will be able to access the WomenOnCall.org services:
Once you receive an alert you may click “ACCEPT” and contact the non-profit off-line to work out the details of the request.

Volunteers Needed for Exceptional Rider Program in Dorchester Area

Hi everyone!

As many of you may, or may not know, I have been working deligently to get a riding program set up for "exceptional" riders at our equestrian center, Enchanted Acres, in Dorchester County.

We are seeking volunteers to assist us with this amazing program!!! See below that describes a little about what we do!!! Come be a part of an incredible team!

I am excited to say that we have finally begun to accept students and do have openings at this time. The program we are offering is unique in that our desire is to focus not only riding skills, but also goals that are written in to your child's IEP, Individualized Educational Plan,FSP, Family Service Plan, ABA program or other programs.

It is amazing to see how so many areas can be addressed during one of our sessions.

These areas include but are certainly not limited to:

Gross and Fine Motor Skills
Sensory Goals
Balance
Hand-eye coordination
Communication & Socialization Goals
Auditory as well as Written Comprehension Goals
Turn taking skills
Pre-reading skills
Math skills

Enchanted Acres, at this time, can offer siblings and/or parent lessons at the same time as your child's lesson! I recall taking my other children to therapy sessions and having such a difficult time attempting to entertain them.

Enchanted Acres offers:

A covered lesson arena, for use during bad weather.
A covered patio area with seating for parents who may wish to watch the lessons.
Little tykes playground equipment for toddlers.
Public restroom.
Family oriented environment
Ample parking

Our riders and families may also wish to participate in an exceptional rider class/show that theTall Pines Horse Show. This riding Circuit has agreed to allow us to sponsor and take part in their horse shows that are held monthly. Our students can participate at what ever level each child is at, whether it be supported with side-walkers or walk/trot alone. Each child will earn a blue ribbon!

Building materials for home (knightsville)

We are in need of 5/4 ply wood for flooring and a 54 inch bathtub, paintrollers, paintroller extension, drywall and windows. We moved into this single wide mobile home after being homeless for 2 months. We couldn't get an apartment because even though we had 2 months rent and deposit our credit is bad from hospital bills. My husband works two jobs and I go to college and am looking for part time work. No luck yet, having trouble finding a job that doesn't require weekends. We are a family of five.
We have gotten one room taken care of for the boys to sleep on bunkbeds in, it took 1 year and about $750 to finish and repair it.We have the rest of the house to go and it's been a very slow process. I am asking for help because last night I discovered black mold in the bathroom floor of the boy's bathroom. There are leaks in the roof and it needs to be cool sealed. Our bathroom is nonfunctional because the bathtub has a big rip in it and the floor in our bedroom is very quickly disentegrating. We have a fist size hole in our bedroom window. The other four windows leak and have rotted out the wood underneath them. We don't have central ac/heat , we just have individual heaters for each room so that makes the electric bill high and we end up spending most of our money on the electric. I'm asking if you have these things and you no longer need them to please help. I can send pics of the problem areas in the house if you would like.. I can paint and do children's rooms really well, so if you need help with that, in return for your help I would do that for you.
Thank you

Positive Mentor needed (James Island)

I am looking for someone who feels inspired to provide some positive guidance and help make a difference in the life of a child. This would be a great opportunity for a stay-at-home-mom, a senior, college student, or church-goer who is interested in being of service by mentoring a child.

I am a single mom of a 15 year old son. He is a nice kid, but he has ADD and the hours he is unattended after school until I get home from work are proving just too much for him. While he doesn't really need a babysitter per se, he does need some authoritative guidance. I am looking for someone who can make sure my son gets busy with his homework instead of playing on Facebook or wasting away the afternoon texting. In my ideal scenario, my son would also be productive with chores -- whether they be at your house or mine. I am just looking for someone who'd be interested in helping me instill a little more discipline and direction in my son's life since he's currently kind of faltering without it (i.e, lackluster grades, laziness, etc.).

We live on James Island, and I am just looking for a situation wherein either he could come to your house or you could come to ours. The extent of the arrangement would be just providing a little guidance and support to help my son stay on task and stay productive. As I said, he can help with or solo-perform chores, and generally likes to do so. He is just not good about accomplishing things without supervision -- and if you can help me modify this trait at all, I'd be eternally appreciative!!!

Please contact me if this opportunity sounds appealing to you.
