I love this boat and was in process of an almost complete refit when I took a new job. My work now has me traveling constantly leaving me no time to complete the refit. But everything is there that is needed to complete the job. All it needs is basic skills and time. I would say it is 80% done. And remaining work is interior comestic. The boat can be used/sailed today. The S2's are great sailing boats. Do a little research for the S2 9.2c in Practical Sailor to get a full read on the center cockpit version.
Below is a partial list of equipment already in place:
Propane stove and oven
Low hours Yanmar 3gm which runs perfect.
Berths for 6 with two in forward v-berth and two in aft cabin.
Head works and has separate shower area
Hot water tank
Full cockpit enclosure for the cold months and a windscreen and bimini for summer
Several new portlights
Good ground tackle
Very good sails
Roller furling jib
Good sail cover on main sail
Very solid davit set for dinghy
Work that needs to be done:
A new teak and holly cabin sole was being installed but work is only half completed. But a full sheet of teak and holly marine grade plywood is waiting to be cut and put down.
Some painting needs to be completed
Stove needs a small part to connect to propane system
Head needs a few lines connected and the head is most in need of beautification but everything works.
That is about it. Honestly it is not a lot of work and one will have a very nice and well equipped cruising boat that can take you almost anywhere.
To ask questions or better yet come see the boat call Rick @ seven one nine 5 1 0 Six eight two nine. Text is preferred for initial contact. I have recently dropped the price from orig 8900 to $6200 in the hope that someone with basic Diy skills will complete and own an excellent cruising vessel. I need no help
