The second picture shows part of my collection of the vintage Heathkit HW-7 and HW-8 CW transceivers and one HW-9. The Heathkit HW-8 transceiver was a second generation and upgrade of the HW-7 transceiver. The HW-9 added significant upgrades and improvements to the HW-8. I have 16 of the HW-7 and 16 of the HW-8, and one HW-9.
I collected these over several years in order to study the massive amount of user modifications and improvements that have been published over the years. I can almost honestly claim now that I have examples of all such modifications. I had to pay extra premiums for many of these rigs. A few of them I purchased just for spare parts. I now have most of these Amateur Radio QRP rigs for sale. My personal favorite is the HW-7, because I consider it to be the underdog by far.
