Charleston Roofing Company is looking for established, licensed roofing crews who specialize in standing seam metal roof installation for a steady pipeline of residential and light commercial jobs across the Charleston, SC metro area (including James Island, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, and North Charleston).
This is sub-contract crew work — bring your own experienced installers. We supply consistent lead flow; you supply the skilled labor and craftsmanship. Standing seam experience is required — this is not a shingle-crew posting.
What we need from your crew:
Minimum 2+ years of dedicated standing seam metal roofing experience (mechanically seamed and/or hand-crimped snap-lock systems)
Active SC contractor credentials — either a Residential Specialty registration through the SC Residential Builders Commission or a General Contractor license with Roofing subclassification through the SC Contractors' Licensing Board, depending on job scope
Current Certificate of Insurance (COI) required before any work is assigned — must show active General Liability and Workers' Compensation coverage
Comfortable working to Charleston-area coastal wind/uplift code requirements (high-wind fastening schedules, hurricane clips, corrosion-resistant fasteners for salt-air exposure)
Own tools and seaming equipment (mechanical seamer, brake, snips, etc.)
Reliable transportation/trailer to job sites throughout the tri-county area
Willingness to wear branded Charleston Roofing Company shirts/apparel on every job site — we provide the branded clothing at no cost to you
Photos required of at least 3–5 completed standing seam projects (before/after or finished roof shots)
To be considered, please reply with answers to the following:
1. How many years has your crew specifically installed standing seam metal roofing (not just shingles or general metal)?
2. What panel profiles/systems do you have the most experience with (snap-lock, mechanically seamed, batten seam, etc.), and do you own a mechanical seamer?
3. What is your price per square for standing seam installation (labor only, and labor + materials if you also supply material)? Please break out tear-off pricing separately if applicable.
4. Do you charge a travel fee, and if so, at what radius from Charleston does it apply?
5. Are you currently licensed with the SC LLR (Residential Specialty or Commercial Roofing subclass)? Please provide your license/registration number.
6. Can you provide a current Certificate of Insurance showing General Liability and Workers' Compensation coverage? (Required before work begins — no exceptions.)
7. How many crew members are on your team, and how many roofs can you turn per week?
8. Do you have experience with coastal wind-uplift installation requirements (hurricane clips, high-wind fastening patterns, corrosion-resistant fasteners)?
9. Can you send photos (or a portfolio link) of 3–5 completed standing seam jobs?
10. Are you available for both new construction and re-roof/retrofit work?
11. What is your typical availability/lead time to start a new job once scheduled?
Serious, licensed, insured crews only. This is an ongoing relationship for the right crew — we have consistent standing seam work lined up across the Charleston area and are looking to build a long-term working relationship with 1–2 reliable crews.
Reply with your answers to the questions above, your COI, and photos of past work to be considered. Please include a phone number and best time to reach you.
