***UPDATE ON PICKUPS BELOW***
I've got a reissue Fender Telecaster Deluxe (made in Mexico) that I haven't played in ages - time to let it go.
I'll include all the info here, if you still have any questions feel free to shoot me an email.
I picked up this guitar in Austin, TX just over 10 years ago. I've played it on and off at home and a couple of times live - it was my backup guitar so didn't ever see too much action. With that said, it's been out and about, definitely not a closet queen. Take a look at the photos, the body's got some minor scratches and dings. Nothing serious though, the guitar doesn't have any cracks or repairs. It's solid.
The previous owner modded the guitar. He installed **Seymour Duncan Wide-Range** pickups and they sound great! He didn't have the originals or the covers that came with the SD replacements. Everything is professionally done - cloth and braided wire. I had initially listed these pickups as Lollar but after a look under the hood, found they were Seymour Duncans instead. My mistake - I've adjusted the price of the guitar accordingly!
Previous owner also put on a rosewood boarded neck from a 70s reissue Strat - same factory (MIM) and year (he didn't have the original). That's actually the main reason I nabbed this guitar as I prefer rosewood over the traditional all-maple necks on Tele Deluxes. It's also a matte neck rather than gloss finish. If you're into Christone Kingfish Ingram's Tele or Chris Shifflett's Tele, this will be right up your alley.
I've been asked about the weight but don't have a scale handy. I will say that it's lighter than the Fender Jags and Jazzmasters I've owned over the years (probably due to the extra hardware on those offsets), but it's definitely still a Tele, so not the lightest guitar I've played.
This is definitely a player's guitar - I'm hoping it'll go to someone who'll play it regularly. Asking $800, cash only.
It'll come with a gigbag from Chicago Music Exchange and I just put some new D'Addario 11's on it. It's ready to roll!
Email through CL is the best way to contact me. Thanks for taking a look!
