Spicewalla is expanding from the mountains to the coast to join the exciting food scene in Charleston this summer!  Are you a lover of great cooking and interested in sharing your enthusiasm with locals and tourists in downtown Charleston? 

We’re looking for a friendly, engaging General Manager to join the award-winning Chai Pani Restaurant Group team.  Spicewalla’s new store in Charleston will be a feast for the senses, reminiscent of a bustling Indian spice market, we offer something for everyone, from beautifully giftable grilling sets to Chai spices and quality pantry staples.  The General Manager will play a critical role in the store's merchandising, building a team of bright, professional co-workers, and organizing community engagement and seasonal events to build on Spicewalla’s loyal customer base in the Charleston market. Previous retail management experience required.

Please note, this role will start as a 1099 Contract Position, and will move to Full-Time Employment when the new store location opens.


Requirements

  • 5 Shifts per Week; Approximately 40+ hours, with the ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Welcome and engage with customers during their shopping experience, asking questions to offer personalized product recommendations, recipe suggestions, and spice education/history for an exceptional customer experience
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, order products to ensure optimal inventory levels on hand, receive products (count, price, stock shelves and backstock) to keep store feeling full and vibrant 
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales data and communicate sales goals with the store team.  Complete and send daily store reports for the corporate team
  • Attend weekly meetings with Sales Director for company updates, action items, event planning, and staffing needs
  • Hire and train staff to create an environment of positivity and support for retail store associates, modeling mind-blasting customer service and hospitality
